Had a great night. Loved hanging out with the folks that I love. Happy birthday StarrFruit, see you when you're laid up!
Currently I'm sitting at Caribou watching the annimated yellow airplane circle the Minneapolis dot on the map. Lots of fun, so far we're delayed about 23 minutes + baggage claim = home around 7:30/8. Oh, well, such is life, I guess.
I did get to have a much better day at school today. I used my (lack of) sensor to laugh and joke off the day I had yesterday. I also watched my beautiful 2nd graders perform in their Winter Sing and they did a phenomenal job. Every year I tear up a little bit just watching them and thinking how proud they know their parents are of them. And that's the way it should be...parents, love you kids and know that they are amazing creatures!!
Busy, busy, busy! The plate has been awfully full lately and I've been uber tired. But, I know that all of these committees and classes and extra tasks are going to pay off in the end!
I'll round off this week by picking up my 'rents on Thursday from the airport, get some grading done on Friday, and I have class from 8 - 12 on Saturday. Then, I get to start off next week with class on Monday night until 9 again. :(
The rewards will be so great....
So excited...hopefully we'll be able to check out the Streak 7. I think it would be a welcome addition to the Sylva Tech Family! :)
I have so much work I need to do for school, grad school and the district leadership committee. However, I have no desire to do any of it!! I just want to sit here, drink my beer, enjoy my lunch and spend time with my husband and puppy!
Anyway, I hope you're all enjoying your day and we'll get back to the grind tomorrow!
The 'rents came to town last night so they could be taxi'd (by me) to the airport. Of course, any chance I can get to see the folks without driving up to the frozen tundra is great by me. So, we went to bed around 10 and I was up at 3:30 to get ready to have the to the airport by 5:15. Now, you may ask, why ' get ready'? Well, not only was I tripping down to the airport, but I have class in Apple Valley at 8. Hence the reason I'm sitting at a Caribou only seconds after they unlocked their doors for business.
I just hope there's a nap in my future.
We've had a strike of snow blowing elves again. We woke up this morning to a driveway that's cleared off.
Thank you neighbors!
We were watching movies last night and I heard a snow blower that seemed really loud but out didn't dawn on me to see why it was so loud. Well, now I know, it was out front. We are sooo lucky.
So, I have to say that maybe I'm missing a safety sensor cuz on my way home, I didn't notice anything wrong with the roads. However, I passed many drivers who'd spun out, made it in the ditch or, for some reason or another, were pulled over in the snow with their flashers on. I don't know what I was missing, but I just kept getting mad at the drivers going 40.
On a similar note, I know I get a lot of guff from my coworkers for living 'in the sticks' but there's something to say about us suburbanites. We have driveways (and we use them), our streets, underpasses, overpasses and highways are well lit, our plows clear our roads in a timely manner AND most of us know how to drive when a snowflake falls!
This puppy sums up how I feel right now. It has been a long week since coming back off of winter break. I have to say, while I'm honored to receive a break at all, being a teacher is taxing beyond anyone's comprehension and a two week break is almost necessary for mental health. Maybe next year.
Anyway, I'm pooped and I'm looking forward to the weekend.
